The SCIO Automation Group is set to acquire Bilfinger GreyLogix Aqua GmbH, a subsidiary of Bilfinger GreyLogix GmbH. The company focusses on control and process control technology for drinking water and wastewater treatment plants, mainly for customers in the public sector. With this acquisition, SCIO expands its customer portfolio and ventures into attractive new industrial end markets. At the same time, SCIO strengthens its service offering in the process technology sector, thus setting the course for further growth in future-oriented and sustainable environmental applications.
In the future, the company will operate under the brand name VESCON Aqua GmbH (Aqua) and acts as a system integrator with a focus on project management and specialized automation and programming services. "With this transaction we are strengthening our automation technology service portfolio and are expanding our customer base into a very homogeneous and stable market environment. With our extensive knowledge and experience in all areas of process technology, we want to support Aqua’s management team in continuing the company’s long-term growth trajectory," says Michael Goepfarth, Managing Director of SCIO Automation.
Aqua was founded in 1998 by Olaf Kremsier and has been part of Bilfinger SE as a subsidiary of Bilfinger GreyLogix GmbH since 2013. Across its seven locations, Aqua ensures highest service levels and customer proximity. SCIO will take over all shares of Aqua’s previous main shareholder Bilfinger GreyLogix GmbH. The other two shareholders and managing directors of Aqua will continue to hold shares in the business.
The transaction is currently subject to approval by the antitrust authorities and is expected to be completed in December 2020.
Update: As of December 15th, 2020, VESCON Aqua GmbH has become a part of the SCIO Automation Group.
