CEC Controls Company, Inc., headquartered in Warren, Michigan (USA) and subsidiary of UK-based John Wood Group PLC (LON: WG), becomes part of the international automation platform SCIO Automation GmbH. CEC Controls is a premium controls system integrator in the automotive industry, that has expanded over the years into growing markets like water and wastewater, industrial manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and food and beverage. This acquisition allows SCIO to massively expand its presence in the North American market and strengthen its business segment Discrete Automation.
The CEC Controls deal aligns with SCIO Automation’s strategic goals of increasing its international market share in the automation sector, particularly in the North American market, over the next few years. This transaction provides SCIO Automation with access to cutting-edge digitized, industrial and process control technology and solutions for the production, manufacturing automation and process automation.

As part of this agreement, John Wood Group PLC, which acquired CEC Controls in 2017, will sell its equity in CEC Controls and its affiliated entity in Mexico to SCIO Automation.
